Action Taken & Early Accomplishments
In 2023
Passed a balanced budget of $9 billion dollars with key supports!
Helped secure an additional $10 million of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds for 2023 Cook County Source Grant program, bringing the total amount available to assist small business to $50 million.
In 2023
Passed a resolution to set aside $100 million for Crisis Disaster Fund (FEMA) !
This include $20 million set aside for municipalities, $100 million for futured flooding, and $70 million for Health Care supports
In 2023
Led efforts to increase anti-violence & restorative efforts for youth & adults!
Support the expansion of community-based services supporting justice-involved adults and youth, and those at high risk of experiencing violence as either a victim or perpetrator. This includes the Returning Residents Grants Services and related initiatives to meet basic safety, wellness, and housing needs for individuals involved with the criminal justice system who are returning to the community.
